October

On the bright side, I got a part-time Administrative Assistant job working for my friend, an Insurance Manager. Mondays to Fridays, 11am till 6pm, working for her until end of November, working for 2 months. Then I would be working as a Project Coordinator for Hook Communications for 2 months, from December till January.

On the other hand, I had to reject 3 different jobs. The first was as an ASM for Para Asean Games, then it was as the Hospitality Lead for Neon Lights Music Festival, and lastly, it was as part of the Entertainment Team for Christmas Wonderland for the month of December. Unless I can figure something out or properly sort out my schedule accordingly.

Technically, I'm so-call set for the next couple of months.

End of January, I will go Bangkok on a solo trip. Maybe a 4 days 3 nights trip. Just a short getaway before I begin my job hunt again.

October has been really tiring. The first October weekend, I went out running errands. The second weekend, I helped out with Nadia's engagement. The third weekend, it was Abang Najib's engagement and dinner with the NAFA clique. The last weekend, I can finally relaxed and chill at home.

Hopefully, November will be a much more relaxing month. Even though, I have a wedding and an engagement on the 21st Nov and Papa's birthday celebration on the 28th Nov.

I can slightly relax a little bit for a while now. I guess.

I have applied a total of 105 jobs in the past 6 weeks. Only 2 of them replied to tell me that I was rejected for the position. I am trying my best not to freak out at all but part of me is freaking out really badly while another part of me have faith in HIM that he will provide me with the correct job that I will learn to love and blossom in. So for now, I'm freaking out and am waiting patiently for the right opportunity. In Shaa' Allah.

My life pretty much revolves around rotting at home and applying jobs on a daily basis. I really hope that I will be able to start a job by July. In Shaa' Allah.

Music Matters Live 2015

2nd time doing Music Matters Live as the Assistant Stage Manager for Fountain Stage. I get to work with the same group of people. It was freaking awesome. Discovered a lot of new bands with really great music.

The 1st night as usual, my job was pretty much bar / club hopping to ensure that all bands performing at the respective bars / clubs are doing fine and happy with the set-ups. It was kind of nice to realize that you are still working but more like chilling while listening to great music from bands from all around the world. Pretty much by 12.30am, I was done for the night.

On the 2nd night, had to report at Clarke Quay by 12pm because the Kpop artistes wanted to do sound check at 2pm. So we had to be there early to oversee everything. In the end, their sound check & line check took up 4 and half hours instead of the allocated 3 hours. On schedule of the day was delayed by 30 minutes because of them. All in all, Morgan Bain was the best act of the night. I completely love his music and vocals.

As for the 3rd night, let's just say most of the bands were freaking awesome. I was in my own world at stage right dancing to their own music. Bastian Baker, Coin Banks, Manceau, Mama's Gun, Jeremy Loops, Goodluck and Gush were really great. Halfway through the show, we realized that we were 15 minutes ahead of schedule. Because of that, we allowed some bands additional time for them to play an extra one or two songs. We did end the show on time, though.

During the last night, let's just say I was really impressed by how efficient all 10 bands were. I don't even need to call any of them at all. All of them reported on time, started setting up accordingly and everything was on on schedule. The last night of the event was officially the best night. The Never Ever, Buckman Coe, Hey Geronimo, Our Man in Berlin, Gentle Bones, Cloud Maze and Time Giant were really great. Their songs were crazy good.

We had a wrap-up party at The Timbre @ Substation. Well, I came for the free food and to watch Teen Sensations perform live, not really watch the band, I was more obsessed with watching Jeremy Neale perform. I have a huge crush on him since he came over Singapore last year for Music Matters Live. I really did not expect to see him ever again. Now, I officially know how it feels to be an official fan girl. I was so freaking ecstatic that I got to meet him, took a few pictures with him, hugged him a few times and even talked to him. I am so in love with him and I'm still smiling because of last night.

Apparently, Teo told me that I would most probably be the Stage Manager for next year's Music Matters Live since Za won't be able to do it for next year's event. As much as I am grateful, I am freaking out at the same time but at least, I got a year to prepare for it. It was nice to see familiar faces dropping by for the event from Sheena, Patrick, Michelle, Sarina, Melissa, Razil, Lira, Nazirah, Grace, Tricia and Nips. Here's to hoping that I will get to do Music Matters Live again for next year. In Shaa' Allah.

In Shaa' Allah, I will graduate with First Class Honours and get the Best Graduate Award. Amin.

Job hunt

So I'm done with school. Results will be out online by the first week of June. NAFA will only mail out the results around mid of June. And graduation will be on the 26th of September, Saturday, which both of my parents are going to come down for. It's cute to see my mom getting super excited for my graduation.

Truth be told, never in a million years would I have thought that I will get a Degree at all. I actually paid for my own Diploma and my own Degree. If anybody had told me this piece of news when I was 18, I will definitely have not believe them at all. I'm proud of myself for getting this far in life having the support of both my parents, siblings, close friends and relatives. Syukur Alhamdulillah.

List of jobs that I have applied for this past week.
  1. Production Coordinator @ School of The Arts Singapore
  2. Administrative Associate @ Singapore University of Technology & Design

  17. Assistant Stage Manager, Entertainment @ Resort World at Sentosa Pte. Ltd.
  18. Production Assistant, Entertainment @ Resort World at Sentosa Pte. Ltd.
  19. Staffing Services Coordinator, Staffing Services @ Google Singapore
19 jobs applied so far. I guess after I have gotten a degree, I realized that I need to be really careful with the type of job that I am searching for. I am about to build a career for myself. I can no longer afford to just grab any random jobs and be content with it. I did paid for my own studies, I have to find a job that is relevant to my area of studies. It's going to be hard but I'm hopeful about it. I have to be hopeful about it. I need to be hopeful about it. I will be hopeful about it.

I'm really hoping, wishing and praying that I will get an interview for the position of Overseas Singaporean Liaison with the National Population & Talent Division Board, which will be base in New York City. The job is pretty much liaising with Singaporeans who are living, working, studying or visiting New York, to instill the patriotic feeling of being a Singaporeans to these group of people. To celebrate Singapore holidays with these people in NYC. It pretty much a middle man job to liaise with these people with the officials in Singapore should anything happen to them while they are in NYC. It looks challenging and it feels like it's going to be a huge challenge but I feel that I really need this job. A fresh start overseas, working in a new environment, learning to be independent and more discipline. I will get to expand my network overseas and start to slowly save up for my Masters.

In Shaa' Allah, I will graduate with First Class Honours and get the Best Graduate Award. Amin.

Final Run

I have watched "Avengers: Age Of Ultron" 3 times and all 3 times were freaking awesome. I have always been a huge fan of Marvel and Joss Whedon, I totally have such huge respect for him. Each character was put together just nice without overdoing it even when all of them were in a scene together.

As usual, Chris Evans as Captain America is perfect. His face, his body, his eyes, his hair, everything about him is just so perfect. I thought I strongly dislike Captain America in the comics for being too righteous. Well, I dislike him as well in the movies but that just goes to show that Chris Evans is a great actor.

Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man is pure perfection. He's fucked up, but in a good sort of way. You got to love the man for being a pure genius in his acting skills.

Chris Hemsworth as Thor is a true blue Norse God. Even though I find his acting a bit stiff as compared to previously or maybe its supposed to be that way. He is still freaking hot though.

Mark Ruffalo is ultimately the perfect actor to be casted as Dr. Bruce Banner a.k.a. The Hulk. His vulnerability and insights as Bruce is achingly perfect as the character in the comics. He is so good.

Jeremy Renner is a good actor but half the time, you realize that he just looks really tired as Hawkeye, like he can't be bothered to even be there. He's good but at the same time, he is boring.

Now, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow is freaking great. I love her. I want to be her. I would be so good as her within my clique of friends.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is so sexy as Quicksilver even though his accent was weird. And I really find it stupid that they kill him off. He should just be part of the new avengers team.

Elizabeth Olsen is good as Scarlet Witch. I'm so looking forward on how they will be expanding her character in the franchise. She is one of the strongest character in the comics, it will be really interesting to see her future fighting scenes with other characters.

Paul Bethany is perfectly charming as Vision. He looks so freaking sexy in his costume and it totally helps that he has a sexy British accent.

And lastly, James Spader as Ultron is orgasmic. I love James Spader. He is one of the best actor I have ever seen and he is an excellent voice actor too.

Overall, the movie is really awesome other than minor issues in between. The love life of Black Widow and Hulk is completely irrelevant. Ultron should have been more psychotic as in the comics. Ultron's minions should have been much more stronger instead of being so easily destructible. They shouldn't have killed Quicksilver at all.

Their final battle scene at the Church was by far my favorite scene. I could watch it over and over again. The coordination of all 9 superheroes was beautifully choreograph. It was just so breathtakingly beautiful.

Final: 3,115 words, 29 pages, 8 tables, 2 figures, 1 graph & 1 chart
Deadline: 08th May 2015

My final assignment. I'm done with it, now I'm just waiting for my lecturer to proofread it before I print it out and submit it. Truth be told, I really have no idea what I did for this paper but I filled up all the necessary requisite. I filled up the template with thorough research and include 4 business strategies with all the necessary tactics. I'm confident of my analysis. Let's just say that I'm confident of getting an A as compared to the rest of my classmates knowing fully well that their topic or rather research was quite lacking during their presentation.

In Shaa' Allah, I will graduate with First Class Honours and get the Best Graduate Award.

Latest

Working in KL was really great. Working with the regular people from PERKAMUS was like working with family. I have worked with them on 5 separate occasions, it was really nice to see familiar faces. 4 days and 3 nights in KL, working with some of the KL artistes, Dato' Fadzley Yaakub, Hafiz, Hazama, Aisyah Aziz, Rasyidah Rahim and some of the veteran artistes from Singapore. Surprisingly, Imran Ajmain recognizes me even though he doesn't remember my name.

It was quite an exposure to work at Istana Budaya and understand the working ethics of the Malaysian counterparts. Even though the working schedule was hectic, sleeping at 3am and waking up at 9am all 4 nights. Overall, it was really great. Food, accommodation and transportation were all provided. I literally spent only 25 ringgit there.

On the plus side, Mama Ros is really considering of opening up an events management company under Nadia's name and making it the official partner of PERKAMUS. In doing so, PERKAMUS has the connections to bring in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia Malay artistes to perform in Singapore. And since Nadia will be starting her degree soon, both her mom and her trust me enough to manage it on their behalf. In Shaa' Allah, it will happen soon.

---

The last time I meet the clique was at Jilani in early January when Nicole was in Singapore. It was freaking nice to catch up again with Nadia, Olivia, Lim Hui, Jared and Yun Hou last night at ChinaOne. Even though it was not all 8 of us but it was nice just to actually drink and catch-up on life. It was literally the weirdest clubbing session that we have had so far. We had drinks, watched the football match, Chelsea vs Manchester United and then halfway through, we went to Mcdonald's since all of us were surprisingly hungry. Then we returned back for more drinks and by 3.30 in the morning, we were done.

The even more weird thing was that, I realized the last time I went clubbing was for our graduation party back in September last year. On a side note, I am so impressed with myself that I did not down any of my drinks at all nor was I even high at all. Since the guys are busy with NS while the girls will be starting their degree program soon, our next outing will be during fasting month. Well, it's more of them accompanying me to break my fast. I'm so thankful for having them as my friends.

Finally, I am officially done with my paper. I'm not touching it at all. No more changes or else I would go mad. My consulting lecturer really knows how to constantly pissed me off. When I sent her my paper, she reads only a quarter of it and ask me to edit it without even bother checking my facts at the next few pages of my paper thus making it seem as if I'm constantly putting repeated information on my paper. I sent her my completed draft a total of 5 times and she constantly asked me to edit or add on information without bothering to finish reading it. It really irks me so badly, what is so wrong with finishing reading my paper while making remarks along the way instead of going back and forth half way.

Now, I have to start stressing out about my slides for my Viva Voce. Apparently my consulting lecturer said that my slides were too dry and I have to do it in a matter of convincing them, instead of informing them. It just confuses me further because I thought that it was just a presentation of the summarize version of our final paper. I'm just taking a deep breath and hoping, praying and wishing that everything will go smoothly. In Shaa' Allah.

In Shaa' Allah, I will graduate with First Class Honours and get the Best Graduate Award.

After countless hours, I found out that I'm shortage of approximately 3,000 words. Now I have to over-explained certain aspects of my dissertation and most probably fluffed it up just to accommodate the word limit. I emailed my first draft to my supervisor, one of my lecturers and a few of my ex-classmates. So far, I have been getting positive responses from all of them. I just need to provide further elaboration at the areas where they put their comments in. I'm confident that I will be able to finish editing it by tomorrow and sent the 2nd draft to my supervisor for discussion. In Shaa' Allah, I will be able to do it and get an A for it. Amin.

I started on this paper around early February, 2 months later, it's still the same. I completely have no idea what I'm doing for this paper. On the plus side, during my 2nd formative presentation, my lecturer was happy with my analysis and the tactics and recommendations that I provided. Now I just need to further elaborate my paper once I'm done with my dissertation. I'm planning to complete by end of April so that will give me roughly 10 days to finish it up. In Shaa' Allah, I will be able to do it and get an A for it as well. Amin.

Syukur Alhamdulillah, I got 2 event jobs. I really need to start sending out my resume but I think I can only start after my KL trip. In Shaa' Allah, I will be able to get a job that I will learn to love. Amin.

On a side note, I really need to start saving for my Paris Birthday Trip.

I'm making quite good progress. Truth be told, I'm much more confident with where I'm going with my paper after last week's 3 hours consultation with Renee. I need to write a work plan, an academic work plan. I have no idea how but at least now the flow of my paper comes out from my brain easily. I'm just going to start typing like crazy and make sure that I will be able to finish it by end of March. I'm left with 2 weeks to complete it and at least 3 weeks of just constantly editing it. I honestly have no idea what I am learning in this module at all. The module is totally for higher management people who are planning for the future of their company. It's completely different from just understanding the vision and mission of the company. It's thinking of ways of making the company last for the next few ways. I really am completely lost and if there was an examination for it, I would completely failed it even if I studied for it. I will start stressing it out about the paper in April, most probably during the first week of April. In Shaa' Allah, I will figure it out.

On a side note, I really got to stop binge-watching tv shows while researching my papers. I have no idea how I do it but apparently, now it's the only way for me to do my assignments.

TV Shows
- Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt - 13 episodes
- Cucumber - 8 episodes
- Empire - 10 episodes so far
- Jane The Virgin - 15 episodes so far

I really need background noise in order to do my assignments. I can only work with TV shows as my background noise. I so screwed up.

I am no longer working at Kinokuniya anymore, after working there for exactly 4 months. Now I have loads of free time to fully concentrate on my papers, like really hardcore concentrate on them. It was fun working there even though it was really tiring just standing there for 4 hours straight. Working there made me realize that I constantly need my mind to be active and helps me know that I need to constantly have goals in my life in order to move forward with my life. It also helps to rekindle back my love for books and my love of buying books and just putting them on display. I can't believe that I spent nearly $500 on books and comics after the 30% staff discount. And to think that I have like another 114 books on my wish list.

I really looking forward to go to KL for the Perkamus AJL event from the 8th - 12th April. I get to work with Nadia, her mom and most probably her cousins again. I know it's going to be fun but at the same time, I am hoping that I will learn a lot of new things. And it will be my first job overseas. In Shaa' Allah, everything will work out fine down there.

In Shaa' Allah, I will graduate with First Class Honours and get the Best Graduate Award.

Final Open House

4 years later.
4 NAFA Open Houses later.
4 NAFA Student Ambassador t-shirts later.
I can happily say that I'm leaving the Office of Student Care in great hands.

I saw how my seniors did it the first time. The second time that I did it, I was one of the committee members. The third time that I helped out with the event, I was the 2nd-in-charge. And my last time helping out with the event over the weekend, I was one of the office staffs.

No matter how crazy and tiring it is, I always have loads of fun helping out during Open House period. Constantly making friends with the junior students and making conversations with outsiders who are interested in joining NAFA. The other thing that I love about Open House is that I don't eat at all. I function really well only on my adrenaline and Red Bulls.

My last NAFA Open House was really great. I gave private tours to at least more than 10 parents around the campus and answered all their queries confidently. Most parents thought that I was the staff until I told them that I am actually a Degree Student there. It was a bittersweet moment to know that I'm no longer doing anymore NAFA events at all. At least Lim Hui did come down to help out for a while. It feels at home to have him by my side doing any NAFA events.

Ended the Open House period having dinner with Raimy, Lae, Jasmie, Johan, Dewei, Fariq, Nicole, Ilyas and Mimi at JustAcia at Dhoby Ghaut. It was fun to sit down for hours enjoying good food and in great company and just catching up in all the latest on-goings of their lives.

I did 3 Orientation Weeks, 3 NAFA Fun Days and 4 NAFA Open House. It was perfect while it lasted.

Hello 2015.

The 4th time in a row I welcomed the New Year by falling sick.
2012 - I had eye infection.
2013 - I had fever.
2014 - I had eye infection again.
2015 - I had flu.
Lesson learnt, I can't be bothered with celebrating New Year anymore.

2015 Resolutions
  1. Graduate with First Class Honours in BA(Hons) Creative Industry Management.
  2. Save up as much money as possible to celebrate my birthday in Paris for a week at the end of the year.
  3. Make sure that I am always grateful to Allah SWT everyday for all the good and bad things that come my way.
In Shaa' Allah, I will be able to fulfill all of them. Amin.
